  1. Rule: multiply by 3, then add 1, 2, 3, ... in turn.
  2. 3×3+1=103 \times 3 + 1 = 10, 10×3+2=3210 \times 3 + 2 = 32, 32×3+3=9932 \times 3 + 3 = 99.
  3. Next: 99×3+4=30199 \times 3 + 4 = 301, then 301×3+5=908301 \times 3 + 5 = 908.
  4. Sum: 301+908=1209301 + 908 = 1209.

Trap: adding a fixed 3 each time gives 300 and 903 (sum 1203), which breaks the earlier terms.
