Solution.

Answer: (d) 3 only

  1. A great circle is a full circle on the globe whose centre is the centre of the Earth.
  2. The Equator is a great circle; the Tropic of Cancer is a smaller circle north of it.
  3. The Prime Meridian is only half a circle, from pole to pole.

Trap: The Prime Meridian together with the 180° meridian makes a great circle, but the Prime Meridian alone does not.
