Q25

Would you like to

  1. (a) meeting her ?
  2. (b) meet her ?Correct answer
  3. (c) met her ?
  4. (d) meet with her ?

Solution.

Answer: (b) meet her ?

  1. After "Would you like to", English uses the base form of the verb: "Would you like to meet her?"
  2. (a) "meeting" and (c) "met" are not the base form, so they are wrong.

Trap: (d) "meet with her" is also grammatical, but it means holding a formal meeting; "meet her" is the plain, standard completion.
