Solution.

Answer: (a) 1 A1\text{ A}

  1. The 0 Ω branch short-circuits the two 10 Ω parallel resistors, so that middle network has equivalent resistance zero.
  2. The two outer 5 Ω resistors remain in series, giving 10 Ω total.
  3. Thus I = 10 V/10 Ω = 1 A.
