  2. The first 8 is in the hundred-thousands (lakhs) place: place value 800000.
  3. The second 8 is in the hundreds place: place value 800.
  4. Difference =800000−800=799200= 800000 - 800 = 799200. Check: 799200+800=800000799200 + 800 = 800000.

Trap: (3) 799920 wrongly puts the second 8 in the tens place (80); the tens digit is 4.
