In a class of 4545 students, 3434 like to play cricket and 2626 like to play football. Further, each student likes to play at least one of the two games. How many students like to play exactly one game?

Solution.

Answer: (b) 3030

  1. The number who like both games is 34+26−45=15.
  2. Exactly one game is liked by (34−15)+(26−15)=30 students.
