Answer: (b) Alok asked Sheela where she had been the week before

  1. An indirect question uses statement order: “where she had been”, not question inversion.
  2. “Last week” becomes “the week before”, and “asked” retains the interrogative meaning.
  3. Thus (b) is the most appropriate conversion.
